RAW MATERIAL

The raw material is an extremely pure dolomite, CaCO3.MgCO3. It is mined in Calarusso, where we have an extensive deposit of high-quality dolomite, located a few hundred meters away from the plant. Being part of the Italian Dolomites, an important mountain range in the Alps, reserves are unlimited. From the mine the shattered dolomite rock is brought to the production plant, by means of a cable way, where it is then treated in the shaft sintering kilns at high temperature (1.900°C approx.) to get a high-dense doloma, CaO.MgO. The selected doloma (sinterdolomite or simply known as dolomite) is the basic material to produce refractory bricks and mixes.
